Cloudmark Server Edition – Online Help
Specifying spam-filtering actions for users
You can configure the action that CSE takes when it automatically detects a spam or phishing message being delivered to a user's mailbox.
To configure spam-filtering actions for users
- Open the Server Configuration window.
- Click the Spam tab.
- In the Spam Detected Action for Users area, select one of these actions:
- Move Spam to
This option can move spam to one of the following locations:
- Local spam folder
This automatically creates a folder in the user's mailbox, using the name specified in the "Local spam folder name" field, if the folder does not already exist.
- Local managed spam folder
This moves spam to a folder under Exchange's Managed Folders. This folder must already exist, with the name specified in the "Local spam folder name" field.
- Deleted Items folder
This moves spam to the user's Deleted Items folder in Outlook or the Junk E-mail folder in Outlook Express. Feedback will not be sent to Cloudmark if you select this option.
- Local spam folder
- Tag Subject
Places the text you specify in the text box adjacent to the Tag Subject option to the beginning of the message subject line and then delivers the message to the user's Inbox. The default tag is “[SPAM].”
Because Outlook and Outlook Express run message rules before CSE filters messages, rules will not run on messages tagged by CSE.
- Move Spam to
- Optionally, you can also select “Mark Spam as Read when detected”.
This option marks spam as read when it is delivered.
- Click OK.
