Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) may prevent CSE from installing or uninstalling

InstallShield is what Cloudmark and many others software vendors wrap around software packages in order to be able to install to Windows without interfering with existing software. Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) controls may interfere with InstallShield's operations, which in turn may cause problems installing or uninstalling CSE. If you have Windows DEP installed and you are trying to install CSE, you may enounter the following Unhandled Exception.

Error Number: 0x80040706

Description: Object reference not set

Setup will now terminate.

To work around this issue:

1. Right-click the CSE installation program and select "Run As..."
2. Uncheck the "Protect My Computer and Data From Unauthorized Activiting" box and click the OK button. This deactivates DEP for this executable and its child processes.
