1998
Launch of Vipul's Razor, developed by founder and Cloudmark's chief scientist, Vipul Ved Prakash. The open source technology, adopted by systems administrators, open source channels and ISPs worldwide, was the basis of Cloudmark solutions and of the earliest deployed anti-spam solutions.
2001
Vipul's Razor has over 300,000 installations. In May, the company released solutions for Microsoft Outlook.
2001
The system achieved accuracy in the mid-90 percentile range. Cloudmark's accuracy rate continues to grow over time despite increasingly sophisticated new attacks.
2002-current
The Cloudmark Desktop software receives numerous industry accuracy awards from PC Magazine, PC World, Network Computing, Wired and others.
2003
Cloudmark's community of active reporters grows to 1 million.
2003
First Server, a service provider in Japan and originally a Vipul's Razor user, implements Cloudmark.First Server is the first of many implementations in the service provider market.
2005
Cloudmark achieves accuracy rates of over 98% in live network Service Provider trials. The Global Threat Network grows to tens of millions of users worldwide.
2006
Cloudmark launches Cloudmark Authority Anti-Virus for highly accurate, zero-hour protection against message-borne viruses.
2006
Cloudmark Authority becomes the leading carrier-grade messaging security solution serving 7 out of the top 12 ISPs in North America and 8 out of the top 10 ISPs in Japan.
2007
Cloudmark extends protection to mobile operators and mid-tier ISPs by introducing Cloudmark Authority for Mobile, Cloudmark Authority for SpamAssassin.
2008
Cloudmark is protecting over 600 million inboxes in over 190 countries around the world.
