When I check for updates, I see a "Could not download" error.

If you are running Cloudmark Desktop for Microsoft Outlook 5.3 on Windows Vista, you may see the following error when you use the Check for Updates command:

Cloudmark Desktop could not download the update at this time. Please try again later by clicking on Later.

To fix this problem, you must run Outlook with administrator privileges. Follow the instructions below:

How to run Outlook as the administrator

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. In the Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory where Outlook is installed:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
  3. Right-click Outlook.exe to open the pop-up menu.
  4. Select Run as Administrator.

    This launches Outlook with administrator privileges.

  5. In Outlook, open the Cloudmark menu.
  6. Select Check for Updates.

This issue will be resolved in an upcoming release.
