Spam messages stay in my POP Inbox if my Spam folder is in my IMAP account.

If you have

  • at least one POP mailbox

    and

  • at least one IMAP mailbox

    and

  • your spam folder is in one of your IMAP mailboxes,

then messages may remain in the POP mailbox instead of being moved to the spam folder in the IMAP mailbox.

This problem is caused by an issue with Thunderbird and is not related to Cloudmark Desktop. To work around this problem, Cloudmark recommends that the spam folder be designated to a folder in your POP mailbox by following the procedure below:

How to designate a spam folder in your POP mailbox

  1. In Thunderbird's folder list, right-click your POP mailbox to open the pop-up menu.
  2. Select New Folder....

    The New Folder window appears.

  3. Enter a name for this new folder, such as "spam".
  4. Click OK.
  5. From the Cloudmark menu, select Options....
  6. Under Detection Action, select "Move to Folder".
  7. From the drop-down menu, select the spam folder that you created in your POP mailbox.

If this does not resolve your issue, please enter a request for help.
