How do I empty my spam folder?

If you have too many messages in your Spam folder, Cloudmark Desktop may cease to function properly. Please make sure to empty your Spam folder on a regular basis. Be sure to review the messages it contains first, to make sure that no legitimate messages have been moved there by mistake.

How to empty the spam folder in email clients for Windows

  1. In the folder list, select your spam folder.
  2. Select the first message in the spam folder.
  3. Press Ctrl-A to select all messages in the folder.
  4. Press the Delete key.

    On Outlook Express, you can also right-click the spam folder and select "Empty 'Spam' Folder".

    The contents of your spam folder are moved to the Deleted Items folder in Outlook and Outlook Express, or the Trash folder in Mozilla Thunderbird. They will be permanently deleted the next time you empty your Deleted Items folder or your Trash folder. You can empty it manually by right-clicking it and selecting 'Empty "Deleted Items" folder' or "Empty Trash".

How to empty the spam folder in Thunderbird for Mac OS X

  1. In the folder list, select your spam folder.
  2. In the message list, select the first message in the spam folder.
  3. Press ⌘-A to select all messages in the folder.
  4. Drag the messages to the Trash folder.
  5. Hold down the Ctrl button while clicking on the Trash folder.

    A pop-up menu appears.

  6. Select Empty Trash.
