Cloudmark Mobile Survey Key Findings Summary

Based on the results of a new poll of more than 1,800 mobile device owners conducted by Harris Interactive® and commissioned by Cloudmark, nearly two-thirds of owners are concerned about the security of their devices.

Many of those who are concerned about the security of their mobile device say it prevents them from adopting new mobile services for financial transactions and making purchases. This may also explain why the majority of owners reported that they have never sent or received confidential information through their mobile devices.

Mobile spam is impacting a significant portion of wireless customers, with 44 percent of owners reporting that they have received mobile spam. Most of those who receive spam (95%) are ignoring or deleting spam messages, which could potentially impact the effectiveness of mobile marketing initiatives.
