Hugh McCartney
Chief Executive Officer
Hugh McCartney is a seasoned executive with nearly 30 years experience in the computer software industry. Formerly an independent director of Cloudmark's board, Hugh joined Cloudmark as Chief Executive Officer in 2005 to drive Cloudmark's global expansion and leadership in messaging infrastructure security solutions.
Before joining Cloudmark, Hugh served as chairman of KVault Software Limited (KVS), a leader in email archiving. As non-executive Chairman of KVS plc, he was responsible for facilitating the acquisition of KVS plc by Veritas in 2004, for US $225 million. Prior to KVS, Hugh served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Services at enterprise software company Merant, based in San Francisco. Before his tenure at Merant, Hugh held several senior Sales and General Management positions in Europe with database vendors Sybase Inc. and Ingres Inc. and application software company MSA Inc.
Hugh has also served as chairman of UK-based Scapa Technologies, an innovator in security testing solutions; as executive and chairman of Neverfail, a global provider of fail-safe technologies; and as chairman of Centennial Software, a developer of network discovery tools. In addition, Hugh has held board positions within several European software companies, both venture funded and publicly traded. Hugh has also lobbied on Capitol Hill for the fight against messaging abuse. He remains an active voice and presenter at some of the industry's largest fixed line and wireless events.

Thomas G. Ream
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer of Cloudmark, Tom is responsible for Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, and Corporate Development. Tom has been the full time CFO or COO for 5 venture-backed companies in the software, security and managed services sectors, and joins Cloudmark from the Financial Services Division of David Powell. As a Partner at David Powell for the last three years, Tom was the part-time CFO for a wide variety of venture backed companies operating in the mobile, cloud services, and gaming markets. Tom’s roles in these companies included management of the financial function, raising equity and debt, business development, and M&A activities. He was instrumental in selling several of his clients to acquirers like Disney, Skype, and Polycom with highly favorable outcomes for the investors and entrepreneurs.
Besides his roles as CFO, Tom has also held various international line management roles, most notably at VeriFone, where he was VP, Americas and later VP and General Manager of the International Division, which he helped scale from $6M to $180M in revenue prior to its sale to Hewlett Packard. Tom holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA, graduated with honors from UCSB, and is a certified California CPA. He serves on the Board of Directors of Family and Children Services, a non- profit based in Palo Alto, California, and holds the offices of Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Finance Committee. He also is an advisor to several venture backed startups.

Neil Cook
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Neil Cook is responsible for Cloudmark's technical strategy and roadmap and oversees Cloudmark's Product Management, Technology Services and Sales Engineering teams.
Neil Cook has more than 20 year's experience in Mobile and Internet messaging and security, designing scalable and secure solutions for telecommunications companies globally. He has a particular experience and interest in the security issues facing the convergence of Internet and Mobile technologies and applications. He has been at Cloudmark for over six years, where he led the EMEA Technology Services team, led some of the company's largest deployments and was an integral part of the company's research and design activities before becoming CTO in 2012.
Prior to Cloudmark, Neil was at Openwave (previously Software.com), where he was instrumental in bringing new mobile and messaging solutions to market, including one of the first picture-messaging deployments at JPhone, and the first telco-scale IP Voicemail deployment for Telecom Italia. In the past, Neil has also developed large-scale cryptographically-secure messaging and directory systems for governments and the US military. Neil has a BSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham, and is the author of several IETF RFCs for mobile messaging and streaming.

Neil McGowan
Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Alliance Partnerships
As the global leader of Sales and Alliance partnerships at Cloudmark, Neil McGowan is responsible for global sales and partnership strategies, and steers the sales and partnership teams around the world.
Neil has amassed 20+ years of executive management and leadership experience at public and startup companies in the high-tech sector. He has unique blend of GM and functional skills in Global Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Corporate Alliance Development, Product R&D, Systems Integration, and Professional Services. He brings to Cloudmark deep and current knowledge of the Mobile, Internet, Media and Enterprise industries; acute acumen of hardware, software and SaaS commercial business models; and prowess in both direct and indirect sales models for domestic and international markets.
Prior to joining Cloudmark, Neil was Chairman and Founder of Harmony Holdings where he provided strategic consulting, venture capital fund raising services, and served as Interim CEO to several high-tech startups. He was a central figure in successfully leading sales organizations as SVP of Global Sales at Movius; SVP of International Sales & Marketing at Verisign; SVP of Americas Sales & Service at Openwave; VP of Americas Sales at Silicon Graphics; and earlier Chairman and Managing Director of Silicon Graphics Sub-Saharan Africa, based in South Africa.
Neil has been as a keynote speaker and an expert panelist at many industry events. He has served on the board of several companies, including current board appointments at Brute-Soft and OneCom.

Leon Rishniw
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Leon Rishniw is a seasoned engineering executive who has spent more than 15 years building and managing software development, operations, information technology and engineering support services organizations in high technology companies. At Cloudmark, Leon holds responsibility for the Product Development, Quality Assurance, Customer Support and Operations teams.
Leon's career has spanned the entire spectrum of the engineering development life-cycle, both internationally and domestically, and across multiple industries including messaging systems, digital media systems, medical imaging and avionics. Prior to joining Cloudmark, Leon was Director of Engineering with Sony Corporation where he managed international development efforts between media and hardware companies within Sony. Prior to Sony, Leon served as Vice President of Engineering at Liquid Audio, a digital music services company where he managed the development of software products and services.
Leon holds five patents in security and digital media processing with the US patent office.

Olivier Lemarié
Vice President, Gateway Technology
Olivier "Mario" Lemarié brings to Cloudmark, over 16 years of executive management and network infrastructure development experience to his role as Vice President of Gateway Technology. Mario joined Cloudmark as part of the acquisition of Bizanga, Ltd., the leading message processing platform, where he was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer.
As Chief Technology Officer for Bizanga, Mario was responsible for the development and direction of Bizanga's Intelligent Message Processor (IMP) platform which provided scalable and full-featured email message processing and security for some of the largest messaging operators in the world. Prior to founding Bizanga, Mario was co-founder of Internet-Way, one of France's first and most successful internet service providers, and played a prominent role in the design and deployment of the technical infrastructure and in the development of value-added services. Internet-Way was subsequently acquired by UUNET, where Mario served as Chief Technologist for UUNET Europe, Middle East, and Asia and was tasked with defining UUNET Europe's technological direction.
Always looking for better ways to exploit technologies, Mario founded Overnetworks in 2000 to develop a new scalable technology to intelligently route data on the Internet. Earlier in his career, Mario consulted to several start-up organizations helping them define their business models and technological direction.

Alan Ranger
Vice President, Global Alliance Partnerships
Alan Ranger has over 21 years experience in both large, multi-national and start up software businesses. As Vice President of Global Alliance Partnerships, Alan is responsible for leading the proposition development and go-to market strategy of Cloudmark's global Partner initiatives. Prior to joining Cloudmark, Alan was CEO of Phonesync, a UK start up offering over-the-air synchronization solutions to mobile network operators. During his tenure at Phonesync, Alan co-founded and became COO of Mobyko, a company that used the Phonesync technology to allow mobile subscribers to synchronize the content on their phones with their favorite social networks and online data stores. Alan has held prominent roles in the European sales, marketing and business development divisions at companies including Oracle, Sybase, BMC Software, BroadVision and Nuance. Alan is based in the Cloudmark UK office and manages the company's Alliance Partner relationships around the world.

Lisa Babel
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Lisa brings over 20 years of experience serving as corporate counsel to high technology companies, from public multi-national brand names to early stage venture capital backed start ups. At Cloudmark, Lisa manages legal affairs, including the company’s strategic partner and customer negotiations and its product licensing model. She is also responsible for managing the company’s IP portfolio, data privacy policies, and corporate matters. Prior to joining Cloudmark, Lisa served as General Counsel for GoldenGate Software and served as transaction lead for the company’s successful sale to Oracle. She also served as corporate counsel to Plumtree Software, a public company, prior to its acquisition by BEA; Avaya, a public telecommunications company; and Qualys, a private venture backed security software company. Prior to her in-house positions, Lisa was an associate at the law firm of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP where she was a member of the corporate securities group and advised public and private clients on financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions.
