Cloudmark Wants You to Show Us Your Spam in New Online Video Contest
Consumers Encouraged to Visually Depict Their Most Interesting Spam Messages to Compete for Cool Prizes
San Francisco—June 22, 2010—As a provider of anti-spam protection for billions of users, Cloudmark, Inc., has battled its share of spam. Now the company is encouraging users to share theirs in a new online video contest. Today, Cloudmark launched “Show us Your Spam,” a contest that invites users to submit video that depicts the most interesting, unusual, funny or just plain annoying spam message they’ve received.
Beginning today, users can visit www.cloudmarkdesktop.com/contest and upload a video to enter the contest. Submitted videos should visually portray a spam message that a user has received. To kick things off, Cloudmark has provided the following video sample, which can be viewed at the contest site at www.cloudmarkdesktop.com/contest.
Selected entries could win Flip Video Recorders, Amazon Gift Cards or the grand prize of a big screen TV. Each video will be evaluated by a combination of public ratings and a panel of judges using the following criteria:
- Overall Impact (educational, inspiring, persuasive, funny)
- Creativity
- Memorable Content and Delivery
- Clear Message
The three entries that receive the highest overall scores from both public rating and the judges will be selected as finalists. Finalists will be announced on August 2, 2010 and a winner will be determined based on online voting and a panel of judges that will take place from August 2-6, 2010. The grand prize winner will be announced on Monday, August 9, 2010. Prizes will include:
- Grand Prize: The top video will win a big screen LCD TV (value approximately $3,000).
- Finalist Prizes: Three participants will receive a Flip Video Camcorder (value approximately $200).
- During the contest, submissions will be placed in a random drawing, every two weeks, for an Amazon Gift Card (value of $50).
