Cloudmark Taps Bassam Khan For Top Marketing Role


Industry Veteran Will Drive Company's Service Provider Marketing Efforts

San Francisco, March 8, 2006 – Messaging security leader Cloudmark Inc. announced today that 17-year industry veteran Bassam Khan has joined the company to lead its continued growth in the service provider market. Khan, most recently vice president of Products at Venturi Wireless, the world's largest provider of 3G broadband optimization, will head inbound and outbound marketing programs at Cloudmark, identifying technological, regional, and new solutions opportunities for the company's service provider business.

Cloudmark, the proven technology leader in secure messaging platforms, delivering anti-spam, anti-phishing and zero-hour/real-time anti-virus solutions, has more than tripled its presence in the wireline/wireless/cable Internet service provider space in the last 12 months. The company projects the market space will dominate its activities over the next several years, especially as it continues to outperform the legacy provider in head-to-head trials, routinely displacing the incumbent.

Khan has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions in the telecommunications and enterprise industries. His related experience includes senior director of strategic and product marketing at Portal Software where he helped grow the company from an early-stage startup to the premiere telecommunications billing company. Khan has also held product management positions at Oracle Corporation and IT management at Wellington Management Company.

Khan holds BS degrees in Computer Information Systems and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS degree in Management Information Systems from Boston University.
