Cloudmark's Authority Messaging Security Engine Integrates Goodmail's CertifiedEmail for Email Authentication for Service Providers

Accurate Real-time Spam Prevention Saves UK's Leading Breakfast Broadcaster Time, Money; Prevents Missed Communications

San Francisco, CA and Mountain View, CA; May 16, 2006 — Cloudmark, Inc., the proven leader in messaging security solutions, and Goodmail Systems, Inc., creator of the CertifiedEmail system for trusted email, announced today that the two companies will integrate CertifiedEmail into Cloudmark Authority. CertifiedEmail authenticates inbound email messages and Cloudmark Authority stops message-borne spam, phishing and virus attacks in real-time.

Targeted to service providers seeking state of the art protection from messaging threats, Cloudmark Authority currently protects over 50 services providers with 100 million mailboxes in 160 countries. CertifiedEmail from Goodmail certifies and authenticates email, and is supported by major mailbox providers AOL and Yahoo!. The company went live this month with its unique cryptographic token solution to enable accredited volume senders to have their email communications delivered as CertifiedEmail.

"Cloudmark Authority has become best of breed in combating message-borne threats, offering service providers the highest possibility of protection from spam, phishing and viruses while at the same time ensuring that legitimate email gets through," said Jacinta Tobin, vice president of business development for Cloudmark. "We are integrating CertifiedEmail from Goodmail with Authority as a value added service for some of our customers who are looking to provide positive identification of legitimate email to their customers. We're delighted to partner with Goodmail to offer this expanded service to our present and future customers."

For Goodmail, the Cloudmark Authority messaging security engine represents a new vehicle for mailbox providers to implement a turnkey system for validating and processing incoming CertifiedEmail messages. Cloudmark is the most widely integrated anti-abuse filter into service provider mail transport agents (MTAs), enabling rapid adoption of CertifiedEmail with limited effort required from service providers.

"Cloudmark has a very unique system for identifying spam, phishing attacks, and other messaging-based threats," said Ken Hirschman, vice president of business development for Goodmail. "Goodmail works at the other end, identifying safe, authenticated messages for ISP customers and restoring trust in email communications. We are pleased to be working with Cloudmark on opportunities to help solve the problem of email-based fraud."

The combined solution, to be offered by Cloudmark as standard functionality in Cloudmark Authority, will be available in the third quarter of 2006.
