Cloudmark Names Michael Williams New Chief Financial Officer
Industry Veteran to Help Support International Growth of Messaging Security Innovator
San Francisco, April 2, 2007 – Cloudmark, Inc., the proven leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced the appointment of Michael Williams as chief financial officer. A seasoned financial executive with over twenty-five years of experience in senior financial positions, including a Big 4 CPA public accounting firm pedigree in both the UK and US, international experience with listed companies, and a strong background in entrepreneurial businesses, Williams will help support Cloudmark's growth in the United States and worldwide.
Williams has a proven track record across a variety of industries. Prior to Cloudmark, he worked in professional sports as Controller of the Oakland Raiders NFL football team, in the entertainment industry where Williams was promoted from Controller to Chief Operating Officer of Steady Systems, and in the consumer products industry as Finance Director of Corgi Toys in the UK. While at Corgi Toys, Williams played a leading role in the company's successful integration with Mattel and the international relocation of its manufacturing facilities to Asia. Williams is also a UK Chartered Accountant and has worked for KPMG and Price Waterhouse Coopers in the UK and Deloitte & Touche in the US.
Williams' experience also includes consulting with public companies in the resolution of corporate governance issues arising from Sarbanes-Oxley, technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition, stock option accounting and SEC reporting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
