Mobile Industry Veteran Joins Messaging Security Leader, Cloudmark, to Accelerate Worldwide Growth and Leadership in Mobile Market
SAN FRANCISCO—September 14, 2009—Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced the appointment of Chandra Tekwani as vice president of mobile operations. Tekwani brings more than 19 years of mobile industry experience to his position at Cloudmark. He will be responsible for product strategy, architecture, product management and go-to-market efforts for Cloudmark’s mobile carrier business.
“Chandra’s long and distinguished track record in the mobile industry makes him an invaluable addition to our executive team,” said Hugh McCartney, CEO of Cloudmark. “He will be a key contributor as we build upon our momentum in the mobile market to effectively safeguard operators worldwide against mobile messaging attacks and threats.”
Prior to joining Cloudmark, Tekwani founded Core Mobile Networks, Inc. where he focused on the secure delivery of cloud-based enterprise applications to smart phones over 2G, 3G and 4G wireless networks. He served as a solutions consultant to HarrisStratex Networks for end-to-end solution design for 4G wireless broadband for consumers and enterprises, voice-over-IP and video-on-demand services, including seamless integration into existing 3G networks.
Tekwani also worked as consulting vice president for strategy, product management and partnerships for WiMAX infrastructure vendor Telsima. Prior to that, Tekwani served as vice president and head of Mobile & Convergence Marketing & Partnerships at Juniper Networks, which included IMS-based fixed mobile convergence and mobile carrier solution management, marketing and partnerships.
