Cloudmark Named as Finalist in 2008 American Business Award™
Cloudmark Recognized with Stevie® Award Nomination for its Corporate Momentum and Technological Innovation
San Francisco – May 28, 2008 – Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced its status as a finalist in the category of Most Innovative Company in the 2008 American Business Awards. The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.
"Cloudmark is honored to be a finalist for such a prestigious business award," said Hugh McCartney, CEO of Cloudmark. "In the past year, Cloudmark has aggressively combated spam, phishing and viruses targeting new environments, including mobile services and social networking sites, proving our continuing dedication to innovation. We will continue to leverage both cutting-edge technology and feedback from hundreds of millions of reporters in our network to deliver industry-leading messaging security wherever spammers may strike."
Cloudmark further launched itself ahead of the industry curve in 2007 by announcing Cloudmark Authority for Mobile Operators. The issue of spam and phishing has emerged as a problem for mobile operators as attackers take advantage of the openness of new mobile handsets and services, as well as the decreasing cost of sending text messages. Cloudmark became one of the first companies to respond, extending its solutions to protect mobile networks from all sources of messaging abuse.
More than 2,600 Stevie Award entries were reviewed for various categories, and Cloudmark joins 19 other companies competing for the Most Innovative Company accolade. Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
