Cloudmark Hires E-mail and Mobile Industry Veteran As Vice President of Marketing

Leading Messaging Security Company Appoints J.F. Sullivan as New Vice President of Marketing

San Francisco—February 27, 2008 – Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced that J.F. Sullivan, a seasoned wireless and e-mail industry executive, has been appointed to the role of vice president of marketing. With more than two decades in technology marketing and the majority of that time with the e-mail and mobile sectors, Sullivan's functional and industry expertise will help Cloudmark's continued expansion into the service provider and mobile messaging security markets. He will report to Cloudmark CEO Hugh McCartney and will be based in the company's San Francisco headquarters.

"In 2007, Cloudmark firmly established itself as the clear leader in carrier-grade messaging security," said Hugh McCartney, CEO of Cloudmark. "Our deep penetration into new regions and markets has given us unique insight into new forms of messaging abuse plaguing carriers, businesses and consumers around the globe. With J.F.'s deep domain expertise in e-mail and mobile-technology marketing, we will be well positioned within the market to address these new and emerging customer pain points."

Prior to Cloudmark, Sullivan was the vice president of marketing and products for Habeas Inc., a recognized leader in e-mail certification and reputation services. Sullivan joined Habeas from Sendmail Corporation, where has was director of product marketing, responsible for the company's commercial software business, as well as its popular open source product. Prior to Sendmail, Sullivan held marketing positions with Webraska Mobile Technologies, Topica, Inc., Netscape Communications Corporation, Lotus Development Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.

"There are dozens of companies that try to stop messaging attacks at the enterprise level but are simply addressing the symptoms while the disease goes untreated," said Sullivan. "Most of today's messaging threats originate from consumer e-mail accounts and target webmail users. Cloudmark is uniquely positioned to blocks incoming and outgoing messaging abuse at the service provider level, deterring abuse at the source and protecting consumer e-mail from spam, phishing and viruses. I look forward to helping Cloudmark further translate its technical leadership into market leadership as the company continues to expand into new markets around the globe."

As a thought leader in the wireless and e-mail industry, Sullivan has spoken at numerous conferences such as PCIA, CTIA, IEC, EMA, LotusSphere, Networld+Interop and Comdex. Sullivan holds a B.S. in computer engineering from University of Florida and he completed the executive marketing program at Penn State University.
