Cincinnati Bell Inc. Selects Cloudmark Gateway to Secure Messaging Infrastructure
Cincinnati Bell Deploys Cloudmark Gateway to Provide End-to-End Protection from Spam, Virus and Phishing Attacks
San Francisco, July 30, 2007 – Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced that Cincinnati Bell, one of the nation's most respected and best performing local exchange and wireless providers, will deploy Cloudmark Gateway™ in its core messaging infrastructure. Cloudmark Gateway is designed to block all categories of spam, phishing and viruses while providing complete message handling and policy enforcement at the network's edge. By preventing abusive e-mail traffic from impacting messaging infrastructure and subscriber inboxes, Cloudmark improves infrastructure efficiency, reduces system costs and delivers a superior user experience. Cloudmark will be deployed across Cincinnati Bell's base of more than 450,000 premium e-mail accounts.
Cloudmark Gateway is a high-performance edge e-mail security platform integrated with Cloudmark Authority, the industry's fastest and most accurate messaging security solution. Architected for carrier environments, each Cloudmark Gateway server processes more than 3 million messages per hour. Cloudmark Gateway servers operate in a clustered environment for full redundancy-policy management, shared intelligence and dynamic failover are distributed across the cluster. In addition, Cloudmark Gateway provides spam, virus and phishing protection that is 30 percent more accurate and up to 20 times faster performing than other solutions. This is achieved by combining Advanced Message Fingerprinting™ algorithms, which automatically detect virus and spam mutations, with real-time data on emerging threats from the Cloudmark Global Threat Network.
Cloudmark's Global Threat Network is the largest and most sophisticated in the industry and consists of trusted reporters in 163 countries. Cloudmark's Advanced Message Fingerprinting technology uses application and language-agnostic threat analysis that looks at the core structure and content of a message rather than the text. As a result, Cloudmark is able to detect threats in any form, format or language.
"The growth in messaging abuse requires an edge filtering solution that protects our internal infrastructure from being inundated with unwanted e-mail traffic," said Rick Benken, VP of Network Operations, Cincinnati Bell. "Cloudmark Gateway is able to dramatically reduce the volume of spam, phishing and viruses entering our network. In addition, it lets us quickly deploy new message handling policies to neutralize evolving threats. These features allow us to better scale our storage and server resources while giving our e-mail customers the best user experience possible."
"Cloudmark Gateway gives service providers unprecedented control over message filtering policies together with industry-leading accuracy in stopping all forms of messaging threats," said Jacinta Tobin, VP of Global Sales and Business Development, Cloudmark. "We are pleased to work with Cincinnati Bell to optimize the efficiency of their messaging infrastructure and to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction."
