SpamNet Beta 4 for Microsoft Outlook®

  • Domain white-listing - White-listing allows SpamNet users to specify email that should not be filtered by SpamNet. This feature expands the existing white-listing functionality to allow the user to white-list entire domains. For example, a "yahoo.com" entry would not block any email containing "yahoo.com" in the From field. This feature employs a simple string match so users should make white-list entries as specific as possible. Because spammers frequently spoof email from popular domains, users should use complete email addresses from trusted senders when possible. Also, entries such as "yahoo" will not filter messages from any address that contains the word "yahoo." For example, yahoo234@hotmail.com and john@yahoo.au would not be blocked.
  • Regular expression white-listing - SpamNet users may now use Perl compatible regular expressions to white-list messages. To use this feature, simply enter the regular expression into the white-listing field.
  • Non-critical failure errors - Beta 4 is more tolerant of non-critical failure errors. These improvements allow the user to remain connected to SpamNet if the system or client receives a non-critical network error.
  • Block and Unblock buttons - The Block / Unblock buttons have been graphically improved.
  • Stability improvements - SpamNet beta 4 contains a number of fixes that make it more stable in low resource environments.
  • Auto-rediscover - When the discover process fails in SpamNet, the program tries to rediscover before it gives and Unable to Connect error.
  • Tell-a-Friend - SpamNet users may now refer friends to the SpamNet service from the Microsoft Outlook® tool bar.
